Salt Lake County Pro Se Program
Representation at your Family Law Hearing
Legal Aid works closely with the Utah District Courts to arrange a number of "Pro Se Calendars," where litigants can be assigned a free attorney to help represent them during their family law hearing. Salt Lake County Family Law Clinics - Procedural information or Legal Advice?
Law clinics can provide procedural information, but only those clinics staffed by an attorney can give legal advice. Questions like "What is the process to file a divorce in Utah?" is a procedural question, and can be answered at any of our clinics. Questions like "What should I do?" "What are my chances in court?" "What would happen if I kept the kids this weekend?" are requests for legal advice. See our clinics below to find one which best fits your needs.
Traveling Pro Se Program
While our office is based in Salt Lake City, our Assisted Pro Se team travels to nearby courthouses to offer their services:
Representation at your Hearing
Legal Aid works closely with the Utah District Courts to arrange a number of "Pro Se Calendars," where litigants can be assigned a free attorney to help represent them during the hearing. The calendar below is where we will be and when. Don't see your court? Ask your local court clerk if your court is participating in the Legal Aid Pro Se Calendar program. We are always looking to expand!
Traveling Family Law Clinic
Our traveling Assisted Pro Se Program offers family law clinics on the same day as the Pro Se Calendar. Members of the public can meet face-to-face with an attorney to answer questions about their Family Law matters. Want a reminder? If your local court already participates in our program, ask your court clerk for the Legal Aid Family Law Clinic sign up sheet. We will call you on the day we are in town to remind you, or answer your questions over the phone!
The Traveling Pro Se Program is presently in the following courts, on the dates indicated in the Traveling Pro Se Calendar.
